Chief Inspector Andy Kent, Head of SYP's Community Safety Department, joined the Force in 1993 after graduating from King's College, London where he studied Mathematics.
Andy started his police career in Doncaster and joined CID after 4 years service. He was then promoted to Rotherham as a detective Sergeant before moving to the Professional Standards Department. There he was promoted to Detective Inspector before moving back to Doncaster where he lead the District's Volume Crime team.
Andy was then promoted to Chief Inspector at Doncaster where he worked in Neighbourhoods, Response and Partnerships roles. He then became Temporary Operational Superintendent for 18 months before moving to his present role as Head of Community Safety.
Andy is presently SYP's strategic lead for Metal Theft, CCTV and Stop & Search.
