Head of Community Safety Department

Superindent Simon Verrall joined Kent Police in June 1992 and transferred to South Yorkshire police as an Inspector in August 2002. He has held a wide variety of roles within the organisation, which have included responsibility for Intelligence functions and Uniformed Specialist Operations.

Simon is also an Accredited Public Order and Firearms commander and has commanded a number of high profile operations in Force over a number of years.

Simon has had responsibility for Community Safety since November 2015. Whilst it is a new challenge, he is very keen to work to ensure that community policing is at the centre of what we do. This includes working with partners to provide help for the vulnerable people at the earliest opportunity.

Outside work, Simon is a father to two children and enjoys classic cars and walking with Pippa, his Labrador.
