Deputy Chief Constable Dawn Copley

Dawn Copley joined the Police Service in 1987 and served in Lancashire Constabulary for 23 years prior to transferring to Greater Manchester Police in 2010 as Assistant Chief Constable.

She was appointed Deputy Chief Constable in South Yorkshire Police in October 2015 where her portfolio includes Corporate Services, Corporate Communications, Professional Standards Department (PSD), Force Performance, Force Change Programme and External Inquiries.

Dawn holds an MSc in Police Leadership and Management from Leicester University and was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal for services to policing in the 2015 Birthday Honours.

Away from work, she loves to travel and is an avid fan of rugby union and Formula One.
