Dawn Copley was promoted to Deputy Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police in September 2015, having previously worked in the North West of England.
Mrs Copley joined the Police Service in 1987 and served in Lancashire Constabulary for 23 years prior to transferring to Greater Manchester Police in 2010 as Assistant Chief Constable. During her time in GMP, Mrs Copley was responsible for a number of portfolios including Organisational Learning and Workforce Development, Specialist Operations, Public Protection, Professional Standards, Criminal Justice and Counter Terrorism.
Away from work, she loves to travel and is an avid fan of rugby union and Formula One.
