Did you see a collision in Rotherham this morning?

Police in Rotherham are appealing for information after a teenager was seriously injured in a collision.

At around 12.15am today (Tuesday 2 January), it was reported that a grey Vauxhall Astra and a white Volkswagen Golf, were both travelling along Maltby High Street towards Tickhill when the Astra was in collision with a traffic light at the junction with Grange Lane.

The driver of the Astra, an 18-year-old from Maltby, suffered a serious arm injury and was taken to hospital.

he driver of the Golf, a 21-year-old man from Stainton, was not injured.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the collision or the manner in which both cars were being driven prior to the collision to contact 101 quoting incident 10 of 2 January 2018.

A 21-year-old man from Stainton has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury whilst driving dangerously. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
