Woman charged with Doncaster man’s murder

Detectives investigating the murder of 72-year-old Michael Eaton in the Balby area of Doncaster have charged a 38-year-old woman.

Lindsey Fletcher, of St James’ Street, Doncaster, has been remanded in custody and will appear before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court next week charged with murder.

At around 12.20pm on Tuesday 26 December (Boxing Day), emergency services were called to a flat in Low Road, Balby, where the body of Mr Eaton was discovered.

A forensic post-mortem examination concluded that his cause of death was multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma.

The investigation continues and officers remain keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Mr Eaton (pictured right on CCTV on Christmas Eve) between lunchtime on Christmas Eve (Sunday 24 December) and Boxing Day and can help piece together his movements during this time.

Police are also still appealing for any information relating to items that may have been taken from Mr Eaton’s property, including blood-stained clothing and cleaning products, which may have been discarded in the Balby or surrounding area.

Police investigating the death of a man in the Balby area of Doncaster have arrested a second person as part of their ongoing inquiry.

A 38-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder today (Thursday 28 December) and is currently in police custody being questioned by detectives.

At around 12.20pm on Tuesday 26 December, emergency services were called to a flat in Low Road, where the body of a man in his 70s was discovered.

Formal identification has not yet taken place but the man’s family has been informed.

A 33-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The investigation is ongoing and police are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Low Road area, or who believes they may hold information that could help officers.

Police are investigating after the body of a man was discovered at a flat in Low Road in Balby, Doncaster earlier today, Tuesday 26 December.

Ambulance staff contacted officers at around 12:20pm and the death is being treated as suspicious.

A 33-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
