PCSOs in South Yorkshire work within neighbourhood policing alongside their police officer colleagues.

They carry out a number of key duties which help to enhance the safety of the public and work in the communities to ensure that the Force delivers the service which the public wants.
South Yorkshire Police is currently reviewing the neighbourhood policing program. Results from this review may enable the Force to recruit more PCSOs. This would ensure the public continues to have people who are able to deal with issues like antisocial behaviour, which can impact on the quality of life of people within our communities.

PCSOs also work closely with partners like local authority neighbourhood wardens and members of local residents' groups and neighbourhood watches to help find long-term solutions to local problems.

We are not currently advertising for the role of PCSOs at the moment. However, would you consider supporting the police in your community by volunteering as a Special Constabulary.
