Police staff overview

South Yorkshire Police is not simply about the uniformed officers serving on the streets of the county. Just as important are the team of professional support staff working behind the scenes to provide the organisational capability required to police South Yorkshire.

Amongst the roles, members of support staff assist visitors to police stations, answer 101 and 999 calls, prepare case papers for prosecution, recruit and train police officers, facilitate the technology and systems we use, manage finances, maintain our buildings and many more.

Support staff are a fully integrated and essential part of the organisation, making vital contributions at every level of every department. As a police service we wouldn't exist without them.
