Request Details: 

I would like to request under the freedom of information act the number of incidents reported to your force involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones over the past four years (including 2017 to date). Please break down the information by year and by incident type (ie public safety, damage to property, etc).

Please also include a figure for the number of injuries caused by UAVs/drones over the same timeline.

Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires South Yorkshire Police, when refusing to provide such information (because the information is exempt), to provide you the applicant with a notice which:  

   a.      states that fact,

   b.      specifies the exemption in question and

   c.      states (if that would not otherwise be apparent) why the exemption applies).
