Update at 9pm: The suspected World War Two shells have now been recovered from the building site and the police cordon has been removed. All roads are now open and public transport has resumed service.

Police were called at around 1pm today (Friday 24 April) to reports that two suspected World War Two shells had been discovered at a building site near Don Valley Stadium. A cordon is in place and Worksop Road is closed at the junction of Britnall Street.

Officers were called to Scawthorpe in Doncaster early yesterday morning, 24 February, after a resident reported that thieves had entered their house through an unlocked door and stole their BMW 3 series and Renault Clio cars.
