Area Description

Broomhill is a suburb in Sheffield dominated by houses with multiple occupancy, which house a large number of students from the University of Sheffield. As a result of the large student population, the area can be a hotspot for vehicle crime and domestic burglaries, with crime prevention advice being key to the officers in this area.

South Yorkshire Police were contacted on Thursday, 16 May, by a man walking on Thorne Moors who had found human remains. An adult male skeleton, partially under a fleece jacket, was lying on the ground on Thorne Moors off Goole Road.
