Detectives from Operation Clover, a South Yorkshire Police investigation in partnership with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and the Crown Prosecution Service, have charged a 39-year-old man with further child sexual exploitation offences.
Basharat Hussain, who is currently on remand at HMP Doncaster, has been charged today (Friday 18 September) with a further two counts of indecent assault, three counts of threats to kill and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He will appear before Rotherham Magistrates’ Court on Monday 21 September.
The offences are alleged to have taken place in Rotherham between March 2000 and March 2003.
Basharat Hussain is on remand already charged with 15 offences and is one of eight defendants charged with over 100 offences relating to child sexual exploitation in Rotherham.
They will next appear before Sheffield Crown Court is on Tuesday 13 October.
