For many today is the first day back at work after the Christmas period and although it may have been struggle to get out of bed when the alarm went off this morning, we are sharing some of our favourite festive moments to cure those early morning blues.
To celebrate the festive season officers and PCSOs spent time at the town centre Christmas lights switch on, took part in the annual Santa Dash race and donated gifts to the Trax FM Christmas appeal, to ensure everyone had a present to open on Christmas morning.
Amongst these festive celebrations, our officers were also hard at work tackling crime, bringing offenders to justice and working tirelessly to keep all of our communities safe. Over the last two weeks, officers have carried out a number of specialist drug operations to remove drugs and the dangers they pose from our communities. From these operations, officers were able to seize over 180 cannabis plants following a warrant executed at a property in Shadyside, Hexthorpe, and arrest a man in connection with cannabis cultivation after executing a warrant at an address on Gloucester Road, Wheatley.
As well as removing threats, officers held crime prevention events at local community centres to provide advice and tips on how members of the public can keep safe during the winter months. They also arrested a wanted person, saw an offender receive a six year prison sentence for possession of offensive weapons and responded to reported incidents.
Looking back at the past two weeks alone it has been a busy time in Doncaster, however officers have been able to bring offenders to justice, address local issues and worked around the clock to keep our communities and residents safe. As we now look ahead into the New Year, officers will continue to tackle crime, work collectively with local partners to resolve community concerns and engage with local residents.
