A 60-year-old man has been jailed for ten years and nine months for 17 child sexual offences against young boys from Doncaster.
David Jamfrey, of Scawthorpe, Doncaster, appeared before Sheffield Crown Court today (Thursday 16 July) to be sentenced after pleading guilty to 17 child sexual offences against six boys at an earlier hearing.
He entered guilty pleas to 11 counts of sexual assault of a male under 13, four counts of sexual activity with a male aged between 13 and 15, one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under 16, and one count of attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child.
Investigating officer Detective Constable David Whitehouse said: “I hope today’s jail sentence provides some closure for his victims, who have been tormented and abused by this man for many years.
“Hopefully now they can begin to move forward with their lives knowing that he can no longer harm them.
“I would urge any victim of child sexual exploitation, or anyone who has concerns about a child, to report abuse to police so we can investigate.”
Jamfrey was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
