Three more people charged with child sexual exploitation offences

Operation Clover, a joint investigation by South Yorkshire Police in partnership with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and the Crown Prosecution Service has today (Friday 3 July) charged a further two men and a woman with a number of offences relating to child sexual exploitation in Rotherham between 1993 and 1995.

Qurban Ali, 52, has been charged with indecent assault, rape and procuring a child to have unlawful sexual intercourse with another.

Karen MacGregor, 58, has been charged with conspiring to procure a child to become a common prostitute and unlawful imprisonment.

MacGregor and Ali are also jointly charged with conspiracy to rape.

In addition, Majid Ali Bostan, 37, has been charged with indecent assault.

They have been bailed to appear before Rotherham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 7 July.

Arshid Hussain, 40, who has previously been charged with 45 offences relating to child sexual exploitation in Rotherham, has also been jointly charged with conspiracy to rape.
