Officers have been working hard over the festive period to tackle crime and keep everyone safe this Christmas. Throughout the week they have:
- Arrested two men, aged 19 and 20-years-old on suspicion of affray following a reported incident at a public house on Old Road, Conisbrough, on Christmas Eve (Sunday 24 December). The two men have since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
- Three men were arrested by officers on suspicion of affray in connection with an incident on South Street yesterday (Thursday 28 December). A 24-year-old man sustained minor injuries in the incident and was taken to hospital to receive treatment. The three men, aged 22, 23 and 30, have now been released under investigation.
- Richard Foster, 37, of no fixed abode, was arrested and charged with malicious communications on Friday 22 December. Foster was charged in connection with reported malicious communications made to police staff in Doncaster. He has now been released on police bail until his appearance at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 16 January 2018.
- Following reported disorder at the Doncaster v Rotherham football match back in November, officers charged Stuart Margetts, 41, of Sunnyside, Edenthorpe with affray in connection with this last Friday (22 December). A 26-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with an incident at the match. He has since been released under investigation as officers continue to make enquiries.
