Woman charged with further child sexual exploitation offence in Rotherham

Detectives have charged 58-year-old Karen MacGregor with conspiracy to rape as part of the ongoing child sexual exploitation investigation Operation Clover.

The offence is alleged to have taken place between 1987 and 1989.

MacGregor has already been charged earlier this month with one count of conspiracy to rape, conspiring to procure a child to become a common prostitute and unlawful imprisonment.

She is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, 7 September.

Operation Clover is a joint investigation by South Yorkshire Police in partnership with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and the Crown Prosecution Service.

Anyone with concerns about child sexual exploitation should contact the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Always call 999 in an emergency.
