Appeal for witnesses to serious crash on Westwood New Road

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious crash on Westwood New Road last night.

At approximately 9.40pm yesterday (Monday, 22 February) a black Vauxhall Astra was travelling towards Sheffield along Westwood New Road, Tankersley, when it is reported to have lost control and crashed into a lamppost on its nearside.

The driver of the Astra, a 39-year-old man from Kexbrough, Barnsley sustained a serious fracture to his right arm. He was taken to Barnsley District General Hospital and detained.
