Road Traffic Collision - Mortimer Road, Staines, Sheffield
Police are investigating a collision in Strines, Sheffield that occurred at 12.05am today, Tuesday, 29 May 2012. A black Vauxhall Astra was reported to have been travelling along Mortimer Road towards Sheffield and on approach has failed to negotiate a sharp left hand, resulting in the car careering through a wall and crashing into a tree. The driver a 19-year-old man from Sheffield, has been taken to Northern General Hospital and is currently in a life threatening condition. Four other passengers aged between 19-years-old and 20-years-old were not seriously injured in the collision. Anyone who witnessed the incident or the moments leading up to it are urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident 12 of 29 May 2012.
