Police appeal for witnesses to a road traffic collision on Chesterfield Road, Woodseats

Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Woodseats, Sheffield.

The collision is believed to have happened around 6.22pm on Wednesday, 27 June 2012 at the junction of Chesterfield Road and Tadcaster Way involving a Grey VW Touran and a Suzuki motorcycle.

It is believed that the car driven by a 40-year-old man from Sheffield was travelling along Chesterfield Way, taking position to turn right onto Tadcaster Way when officers understand that the motorcycle driven by a 27-year-old man collided with the car.

The driver of the motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries and has been taken to the Northern General Hospital. The driver of the car was not injured.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 975 of Wednesday 27 June.
