Police issue safety advice ahead of the Tramlines Festival
The Tramlines Festival takes place this weekend, kicking off on Friday 20 July until Sunday 22 July, at various locations in Sheffield. The event, which has a line-up of various bands and artists, attracts large crowds of people to the city. Police and partners are working together to help make the festival enjoyable for everyone and to maintain a safe environment for festival-goers and for people living in the city centre. For those people who are attending the festival, police are advising them to be extra vigilant in relation to their personal property, such as bags, mobile phones, cameras and wallets. Police would also advise anyone thinking of taking their car to the event, to plan their route and leave plenty of time. Motorist are also reminded to keep their vehicles secure and don’t leave any items on display. Superintendent Shaun Morley of South Yorkshire Police said “We want everyone who is attending the Tramlines Festival to have an enjoyable time in support of the event, and to take care of their personal possessions, drink sensibly and stay safe.”
