Pedestrian in life-threatening condition following Barnsley collision

A man is currently in hospital in a life-threatening condition following a collision in Barnsley in the early hours of this morning (Monday 11 December). 
 
Just before 1.10am, a white Daf articulated LGV was driving along the A635 Dearne Valley Parkway from Goldthorpe towards Doncaster when it has been involved in a collision with a pedestrian, close to the Hollygrove Roundabout. 
 
The pedestrian, a 35-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and currently remains in hospital undergoing treatment. 
 
The driver of the LGV was not injured. 
 
Officers want to speak to anyone who saw either the pedestrian of the LGV prior to the collision.
