Pedestrian seriously injured in Sheffield collision

A 31-year-old man is currently in hospital in a life-threatening condition following a collision in Sheffield this morning. 
 
Emergency services were called to the A61 Halifax Road at around 6.10am after a black Audi A3, travelling towards Leppings Lane, was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, crossing the road from the central grass verge. 
 
The pedestrian, a 31-year-old man, has been taken to hospital where he currently remains with life-threatening injuries. 
 
The driver of the Audi, a 26-year-old woman, was not injured. 
 
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 109 of 20 December 2017.
