Police appeal after woman sustains life-threatening injuries in Rotherham car crash

Police are appealing for information after a 58-year-old woman was involved in a collision on Friday, 14 December, on Rotherway, in Rotherham.

At about 7.50pm a grey Seat Altea driven by a 40-year-old man was travelling on Rotherway towards the roundabout joining West Bawtry Road. A red Peugeot 206 driven by the woman was behind the Seat and its thought the Seat kept stalling on this stretch of road. The two cars approached the roundabout in the left hand lane and the Peugeot struck the rear of the Seat.

The woman from Rotherham suffered a bleed on the brain and is being treated at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The man from Sheffield was not reported to have been hurt.

Police are appealing to people who saw the collision or the manner of driving prior to it. Officers also want to hear from the man who stopped at the scene to help, but left saying he had to go to hospital.
