Renewed appeal following fatal collision, Barnsley

Officers investigating a collision in which a 17-year-old boy died are asking for further witnesses to come forward. 
 
At around 8.20pm on Saturday 23 December, a dark-coloured Dacia Compass and a bicycle were involved in a collision in Shaw Lane, Carlton, just before the railway bridge. 
 
The 17-year-old boy riding the bike suffered life-threatening injuries and sadly died in hospital on Sunday 24 December. 
 
Police want to speak to anyone who may have driven past the boy on his bike, or the car, prior to the collision. 
 
The rider of the bike was wearing blue tracksuit bottoms, a blue hooded top and a hat/gloves.
