Re arrests made in Sheffield murder investigation

TWO re-arrests have this morning (26 February 2019) been made in connection to a stabbing which took place at Valley Centertainment on Friday 21 September 2018.

A 22-year old Sheffield man has been re-arrested on suspicion of murder whilst a second 22-year-old Sheffield man has been re-arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.

The two men were previously arrested in connection to the incident in which 22-year-old Fahim Hersi died after sustaining a stab wound to the chest.

The men have been re-arrested following new evidence, taking the total number of arrests to nine.
Five people have been released with no further action and four have been released under investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Palmer, leading the investigation, said: “Our investigation in to Mr Hersi’s death is continuing to progress at speed and we continue to examine extensive CCTV footage and review forensic opportunities.

“His family are being supported by specialist officers, and are kept up to date with all developments in the investigation.
