Investigation continues into shots fired in Sheffield

Detectives are continuing to investigate reports of gunshots being fired in the Walkely area of Sheffield.

At around 11.10pm on Wednesday (18 April) police were called to Bransby Street where the downstairs windows at a two properties were damaged. No-one was injured during the incident.

A full investigation has been launched and detectives are continuing to appeal for information.

Leading the investigation Detective Chief Inspector Steve Whittaker said: “This is being treated as a standalone incident as yet, no-one has been arrested.”

Officers have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries and following a number of lines of enquiry but would still like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time.

We have had reports of a dirty red or dark-coloured small hatchback car with roof bars in the area around the time that gunshots were heard,” added DCI Whittaker.

“Did you see the car? Were you in the area at the time? If so please do get in touch.”
