Can you help find the motorcyclist that assaulted our officers in Barnsley?

On Friday 14 December officers tried to speak to the rider of a Burgundy Honda Varadero motorcycle, registration number YG5 at Pall Mall in the town centre of Barnsley at around 2pm.

The motorcyclist had stopped but as officers started to speak to the rider; he assaulted one of our officers by punching him in his face and then drove off.

Another officer tried to stop the rider driving off but they deliberately rode at him, striking him and causing injury to his leg and arm.

The vehicle then accelerated off at speed down Harborough Hills.

Later that day, the motorcycle then failed to stop for officers in Royston.
