CCTV released in connection to Crookes burglary

Detectives investigating a burglary in the Crookes area of Sheffield in which a man was threatened and struck with a hammer have released CCTV footage of a man they want to identify.

At around 5.50am on Monday 4 June a man is said to have broken into a house on Mona Road, via an open downstairs window, disturbing a 23-year-old man inside the house.

The suspect, who was carrying a hammer, is then said to have assaulted the victim, causing injuries to his arm. He then fled the house heading towards Commonside/Howard Road.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out since the incident was reported, including house-to-house checks and a CCTV trawl, and officers investigating have now released CCTV footage of a man they need your help to identify. Enquiries indicate the man may frequent the area regularly and so would ask people to call police if they see him.
