Detectives investigating an incident in which a man was pushed into a canal and had his wallet stolen have released an e-fit of a man they want to identify.

At around 6.30pm on Friday 13 July, a 31-year-old man was walking on the canal bank on land between the River Don and Mexborough New Cut, Doncaster Road, when he was approached by another man.

The man then pushed him into the canal, before stealing his wallet using a fishing magnet. He then left the area heading towards Denaby.

The victim managed to get out of the canal on his own and was not injured. Officers investigating have since worked with him to produce the e-fit image shown.

Do you know who the man could be? Did you see what happened? If you can help, please call either 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Please quote incident number 833 of 13 July when passing on information.
