Appeal for witnesses after man assaulted on a Sheffield street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 23-year-old man was assaulted in an unprovoked attack in the early hours of Thursday 7 February.

It was reported that at around 12.30am the victim was walking along Crookes Road with his girlfriend. As they approached a parade of shops opposite Sainsbury’s, a man in a white sporty 4x4 car pulled up beside them and got out of his car.

He approached the couple and exchanged words, the suspect then punched the 23-year-old man in the face knocking him unconscious to the ground. The suspect also pushed his girlfriend when she tried to intervene.

It’s believed the suspect drove off towards Hillsborough, he is described as mixed race, late 20s to early 30s with a London accent.
