Officers are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in the Blaxton area of Doncaster earlier today (Thursday 14 November).

At about 10.15am, emergency services were called to the A614 Thorne Road where a gold Rover 75 is said to have left the carriageway and collided with a tree.

The collision happened between the roundabout and Vulcan Way, as the car was heading in the general direction of Hatfield Woodhouse.

A 71-year-old man driving the car was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Police believe there may have been a delay in the collision being reported, due to the fact that the location is off the carriageway and so are asking anyone who saw what happened and has not yet spoken to the police to contact them.

Officers also want to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage of the area from this morning.

If you can help, please call 101 quoting incident number 254 of 14 November 2019.
