Three people have been arrested following a pursuit and collision in Sheffield this afternoon (Wednesday 11 September).
It is reported that a grey Volkswagen Golf failed to stop for police in the Twentywell Lane area of Sheffield, at around 2.05pm.
Officers engaged in a pursuit of the vehicle. A short time later, the Golf was involved in a collision at St Mary’s Gate roundabout, at the junction with Ecclesall Road.
A number of police vehicles are believed to have sustained damage during the pursuit.
The three occupants of the Golf – men aged 23, 22 and 27 – were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. The 23-year-old man, believed to be the driver, was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and being over the prescribed limit.
All are currently in police custody.
Two police officers are understood to have suffered minor injuries.
An investigation is underway and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 430 of 11 September 2019.
