Scrutiny Panel
Date published: 27 April 2023 12:19We hold bi-monthly stop and search scrutiny panels.
These groups, made up of members of the public, allow us to review feedback as well as submitted grounds complaints and determine best practice when it comes to utilising stop and search.
The members of the panel reflect the views of communities across South Yorkshire and provide accountability to the public in the analysis of the grounds alongside learning more about how, why and when we utilise this power. We may also use Body Worn Video to demonstrate interactions with the public.
Our stop and search scrutiny panels are run in each district by the neighbourhood policing Chief Inspectors, but if you would like to join our scrutiny panel, please fill in one of our application forms, complete it digitally and return it to Chief Inspector Sarah Gilmour at Sarah.Gilmour@southyorks.pnn.police.uk.
We always look to provide the best experience and would welcome your feedback.
Our scrutiny panel is once again beginning to meet after the easing of the government's coronavirus pandemic restrictions. Results and priorities emerging from these panel meetings will be published here.
