Welcome message from the Neighbourhood Inspector Lisa Bird

Hello, my name is Lisa Bird and I am the Doncaster Central Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector, covering Balby, Hexthorpe, Intake, Wheatley, City, Bessacarr and Cantley ward areas .

The team consists of three sergeants, fourteen police officers (PCS) and eight Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) who each have geographical responsibility for a geographical areas within the wards mentioned above.

If you see any of the team out on patrol please do stop for a chat and let them know what’s happening where you live, as this information is vital to help us understand what you need from us. It helps shape our priorities and gives us a better picture of life in the areas we police, allowing us to solve problems more effectively.

It is my honest belief that in working together, we can ensure the safety and well-being of our communities, developing on the work that is already in place.

Every month I will run Community Engagement Meetings where residents will be able to meet myself, officers and colleagues from partner agencies. This helps them identify emerging community issues or concerns which we can look to address. It also gives the opportunity to update local communities about the actions we are taking to address issues that have been raised.

Your local police station is:

The overarching priorities for the Doncaster Central Neighbourhood Policing Team are:

  • To reduce crime and anti-social behaviour by building stronger ties within the communities we serve
  • Tackling long term issues experienced within our communities, seeking solutions to these matters in conjunction with our partner agencies
  • Provide high visibility reassurance to our communities via regular patrols by officers
  • We will also aim to tackle armed criminality which is often linked to drugs. We will act on information provided by the public and partners to tackle drug production and use
